Peter Obi  Finally Accepts Supreme Court Judgement Affirming Tinubu’s Election Victory

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in 2023 presidential elction, Mr. Peter Obi, on Monday, accepted the judgement of the Supreme Court which affirmed the election victory of President Bola Tinubu.

Obi, who spoke on the outcome of the judgement for the first time, said LP will assumes its role as a strong opposition force in the country.

He also disclosed that the judgment would not signify the end of the Obidient movement which became formidable during the last poll across the country.

The former Anambra state governor stated this on Monday in Abuja, while speaking at a press conference over the Supreme Court judgement.

Obi noted that, though elections and legal battles resulting from the contest were over, he remained committed to the rebirth of a new and prosperious Nigeria.

The Supreme Court on September 26, upheld the September 6 judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal affirming the declaration of Tinubu as duly elected president.

The seven-member panel, led by Justice John Inyang-Okoro, dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar, who came second in the election, and Obi who came third.

Obi said: “In the coming months we will build the party, we will make it stronger. We will build those young people. We will come out stronger and more committed to a new Nigeria.

“The future is dynamic. Our focus now is to ensure that we do the right thing for the benefit of Nigeria.”
