Armed bandits have attacked the home of the immediate past governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Seriake Dickson, at Toru-Orua Community in Sagbama Local Area of the state.
A policeman attached to the home of the former governor was reportedly shot dead during the hoodlums’ invasion.
The incident happened Wednesday midnight.
The gunmen reportedly broke into the former governor’s home through the Forcados River.
The security men attached to Dickson was reportedly engaged the bandits.
When contacted, the state Public Relations Officer, Asinim Butswat said he will confirm and revert on the matter.

Meanwhile, a statement from Ex-Governor Dickson’s spokesman, Fidelis Soriwei, confirmed the attack and death of the policeman.
“A gallant police team successfully prevented the gunmen who attempted to invade the compound through the Forcados River from gaining access.
“Unfortunately, a Police officer who led the operation was killed in the hit and died in the attack.
“Chief Dickson and his family were not in the compound during the attack having been away in Abuja and Yenagoa for about three weeks.”
