Following the successful conduct of the state congress of the All Progress Congress (APC) in Rivers State, a leader of the party in Ontario, Canada, Mr. Joe Korka Waadah has charged members of the party to unite and strengthen the party in the state.
Korka-Waadah, who doubled as the President of Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi MOVE UP Campaign 2023 for Canada/USA, congratulated the new leadership of the party in the state for their emergence.
In a statement on Monday personally signed by the APC chieftain, Korka-Waadah appealed to the new leadership to mobilise the people of the state to massively support APC in Rivers.
While felicitating with Rivers APC leaders and members over the rancour-free congress, he charged them to reposition and translate the seamless exercise into future election victories for the party.
“After six frustrating years, the successful conduct of the state congress of the All Progressives (APC) in Rivers State is a reassuring first step to repositioning the party in the state.
“For putting aside all differences to achieve this very important milestone, I say warm congratulations to the leadership of our great party.
“I hasten to add that while we bask in the euphoria of this achievement, it is also the right time to move swiftly on to engage our dear people of Rivers State to join hands with us in rebuilding our state.
“These last challenging years were a lesson in the value of cohesion and I urge our leaders to build on it by reconnecting with the people. We need to reassure them that the APC is the only party that would bring development to their footsteps.
“The task ahead may not be easy, but with unity of purpose, disadvantaged young men and women from struggling Rivers State families would have the chance again to study on scholarship in the best universities. It would be time to redirect focus on human capital development by investing in sustainable projects that guarantee the future for our people socially and economically.
“Once again, congratulations to APC leadership in Rivers State and felicitation with our national leaders”, Korka-Waadah wrote.
