Itsekiri Chief, Charles Ikomi, Is Dead

A prominent Itsekiri leader, Chief (Dr.) Charles Ikomi, is dead.

His death was confirmed, on Thursday, by his brother, Eugene Ikomi.

The deceased was one of the foremost supporters of the new Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, before his coronation.

Eugene Ikomi who is the Secretary, Warri Council of Chiefs, described the death of his elder brother as painful.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Warri Council of Chiefs and Iyatsere of Warri, Chief Johnson Amatserunleghe, has commiserated with the family of the deceased and the entire Warri Kingdom.

Chief Amatserunleghe, described Ikomi as a very strict, disciplined and generous Itsekiri leader.

“We will miss him greatly. We are in shock over the death. He was a very disciplined and generous Itsekiri leader. He was the Treasurer of the Olu Advisory Council. We will miss him greatly,” Amatserunleghe said.
