The Association of Ijaw Non-indigenes in Rivers State has commended President Muhammadu Buhari over the appointment of the Bayelsa-born Prof. Nelson Brambaifa as Acting Managing Director, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Issuing their word of commendation to Mr. President on Tuesday in Port-Harcourt, the President of INRS, Comrade Douye Alhaji Kebbi, said that the appointment of Brambaifa was a demonstration of President Buhari’s commitment to better the lot of the Niger region.
Comrade Kebbi, who is also Coordinator, Niger Delta Peace Movement of the Presidential Support Committee 2019, noted that Buhari understood the peculiarities and developmental needs of the region, hence, the appointment of the technocrat.
He described the new NDDC boss as a square peg in a square hole, stressing the Commission was in a better position to do exploits for the region with Brambaifa at the helm of affairs.
He thanked Mr President for having the Niger Delta people at heart in choosing a capable handle to manage affairs the development agency.
The group also thanked the Minister of Transport, Chief Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, who they described as a harbinger of change, for his wonderful role played in Brambaifa’s appointment, stressing his developmental efforts for Niger Delta had been witnessed by the people.
“We congratulate Prof. Brambaifa for his well-deserved appointment, we urge him to use his wealth of experience to advance the course of infrastructural development in the region.
“We also urge Brambaifa to be steadfast in executing projects that would impact positively on the socio-economic development of Niger Delta states”.
