Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won in 23 of the 25 LGAs. Chief Great Ogboru won in two LGAs.
Okowa of the PDP was declared as the winner of the election by the INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Accra Jaja.
