I will Deliver on my Campaign Promises – Delta Council Boss, Ajede

The Chairman, Ukwuani Local Government, Hon (Barr) Ajede Solomon Possible has appealed to traditional rulers, chiefs and other community structures across the local government to police and curb crimes and other security issues in their domains even as he opined that his administration is poised to serve the people by delivering on all his campaign promises.

Barr Ajede made known his administration’s drive to the Ukwuani people during his yet to be concluded familiarization/thank you tour round the communities in the area barely 3 weeks of his inauguration. He heartily thanked the Ukwuani people for coming out in their numbers to vote for him and all PDP candidates in the just concluded March 6, 2021 LGA election in the state.

He reiterated that he is committed to deliver on all his campaign promises beyond words and that he will employ all security and intelligent measures to ensure that the lives and property of the people are safe while adding that, in no time the issue of Fulani Herdsmen and criminals terrorizing Ukwuani people will be strategically addressed.

As part of his plans for the local government, the chairman noted that, security, environmental sanitation, improved primary healthcare services, Education, empowerment programme, sports and infrastructural development will be top priority in the next 3 years.

According to him, the local government can not solely address the security challenges in the LGA; “we are appealing to criminals in all our communities to repent and shun evil. Our chiefs should help in policing our communities and fish out criminals in their territories because very shortly the government will decend on them”.
“Clean environment is key to living a good life and this administration is out to pursue environmental sanitation vigorously and give Ukwuani LGA an enviable facelift in the state”.

“We shall give Primary Healthcare, education, sports and empowerment the needed attention after due consultations with the relevant stakeholders. Our people will be adequately empowered, we will train them in relevant and lucrative skill areas and equip them with starter parks to enable them establish on their own.” he said.
The council boss while interacting with the various communities requested that they list their needs and concerns, so as to enable the council address their specific needs.

In the separate meetings with the communities that lasted 3 days, the people raised the following concerns; insecurity, kidnapping, reckless grazing by Fulani Herdsmen, electricity, water, dilapidating school buildings, under staffing of most primary schools, poor state of Primary Health centres, inadequate selling and buying conditions of some major markets, uncontrolled dump sites and grading of farm roads.

Other salient concerns listed are; peaceful completion of the land demarcation between Amai and Umuebu; peace between Amai and neighbouring communities, peace and unity in Obiaruku, construction of Obiaruku Stadium, Obiaruku community youth election amongst others.

In his response, the council boss stated the people that security is paramount on the agenda of his administration and that in a short while the issue of insecurity in the area will be adequately tackled. He also noted that, the council can not fund most of the concerns raised by the people but that he will liaise with relevant authorities and well meaning Ukwuani sons and daughters in government to make sure that most of the requests are granted. “The financial capacity of the council as we all know can not do all that we listed however we will try to better the lots our people within the means of the council, that I can assure”, he enthused.

Barr Ajede however lamented the disunity that is gradually tearing Obiaruku community apart; he therefore called on the Okpala-ukus and chiefs to pursue peace so Obiaruku can have one voice. He assured the people that he will study the documents on his table on the land demarcation and do the needful.
Meanwhile, HRM Evang (Comr.) R.C Osanwuta (JP) the Ezhie of Ezhionum Kingdom while playing host to the chairman appreciated him for what he described as ‘prompt thank you move’.

The Eze Udo pledged the support and cooperation of his kingdom to the administration of the council chairman even as he advised him not to allow himself to be rubbished by mediocres. “You must be focused and always seek God in prayers in your decision making and taking; and I pray that God will grant you the wisdom and grace to pilot the affairs of the LGA”, he added.

Also, the Igwete of Amai Kingdom, HRM Eze Paul Solomon Ifeneziuche lauded Barr Ajede for the unexpected thank you visits to the various communities in the LGA. He assured the chairman that Amai Kingdom is committed to peace and that the kingdom will give his administration all the needed support and at all times. He appealed to the chairman to help in making sure that the land demarcation between Amai and Umuebu is completed amicably.

On his part, the Ebu of Umuebu, HRM (Amb.) Donald Ekeruche congratulated Hon (Barr) C.S.P Ajede on his victory at the polls even as he encouraged him to continue on the right path while assuring him of the his kingdom’s support at all times.

So far, the chairman visited Akoku, Umuaja, Obi-Obeti, Amai, Umuebu, Ezhionum and Obiaruku other communities according to him will be reached for interactions as soon as possible.
