How Gunmen Killed Six, Carted Away Millions Of Naira During Raid Of Four Banks In Edo


No fewer than six persons were on Thursday shot dead by armed robbery gang that raided four banks at Uromi, Esan North East Local Government of Edo State.


It was gathered that the gunmen initially attacked a police station in the area before proceeding to the banks.

It was gathered that the banks attacked by the gunmen in a coordinated attack that lasted over an hour were Zenith, UBA, First and Union Banks.

The masked gunmen who allegedly invaded the banks in the evening in several vehicles blew the banks entrance door of the banks opened with dynamites.


It was further gathered that the gunmen succeeded in carting away huge amount of money from the three banks raided .

Source said four persons in police were killed in the operation.


When contacted, the spokesman of state police command, SP Bello Kontongs confirmed the attack.


Kontongs listed the attacked banks to Zenith, UBA, First bank and Union Bank.

He said two police officers and four civilian lost their life in the attack.
