How Gunmen Abducted Appeal Court Judge, Killed Police Orderly In Benin

Arms-wielding gunmen have reportedly kidnapped a Court of Appeal judge, Honourable Justice Chioma Nwosu, in Benin, Edo State.

NIGER DELTA TODAY gathered that the police orderly to Justice Nwosu, Inspector A.I. Momoh was shot dead by the rampaging hoodlums.

The kidnapped judge who was traveling in her Toyota SUV was trailed and intercepted around Christ Chosen Church of God International Benin-Agbor road by the gunmen.

Sources said the captors numbering four shot the tyre of the Toyota SUV before forcefully whisking the victim to unknown destination.

The hoodlums who waylaid the judge with a Toyota Voltron car immediately shot at the policeman while attempting to challenge the gunmen.

When contacted, the State Police Command Spokesman, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident.

According to him, “The incident occurred today at about 11.30 am, along Benin-Agbor express way, by Christ Chosen Church of God International.

“The victim, Justice Chioma Nwosu was attacked, while the police orderly attached to her, Inspector A. I. Momoh, was murdered and the driver of the vehicle severely injured and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

“Immediately, the police operatives of Ikpoba Hill divisional police headquarters, the tactical team of Edo state command and other relevant sections swung into action, but unfortunately, they got away with it.

“Investigation is ongoing and by the grace of God, Justice Chioma Nwosu will be rescued unhurt.”
