The Manager, Procurement and Contract, Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited, Mr. Claude Kanayo Esekody, has denied the allegations of unethical and professional misconduct levelled against him by a group of aggrieved indigenous contractors of OML 30 in Delta State.
Esekody, who described the contractors as nonexistent in the contractors list of the oil firm, noted that the allegations were meant to tarnish his hard-earned reputation and professional career of several decades.
The aggrieved contractors had in a statement on February 6, 2021 accused Esekody of reportedly frustrating activities of local contractors especially those of host communities in OML 30 thereby causing unrest in the area.

The said contractors subsequently demanded for the sack of Mr Esekody as procurement manager. Meanwhile, efforts by NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online to contact Mr. Esekody to respond to the allegations had proved abortive.
However, Mr. Esekody in a letter addressed to NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online on Sunday 11th April, 2021 through his lawyer, Mr. Raymond Okorefe, denied all the allegations, stressing that the allegations by the said contractors have no iota of truth.
Esekody maintained that Chief Matthew Agbefe, who signed the letter on behalf of the aggrieved indigenous contractors, remains faceless and only exists in the spirit realm as one of Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited’s indigenous contractors.
