Governors of the South East geopolitical zone are currently meeting in Enugu, the capital of Enugu State.
It was gathered that the governors are meeting over the deteriorating insecurity situation in the region.
Governors already at the meeting are; Hope Uzodimma (Imo); Chukwuma Soludo (Anambra); Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi); Alex Otti ( Abia) and Peter Mbah (Enugu).
They (governors ) are also expected to meet and welcome the nation’s service chiefs for an expanded security meeting over the spate of killings and maiming in the region.
The meeting commenced around 1:30 pm with all the Governors in attendance.
The host Governor Peter Mbah received them at the Government House, Lion Building, Enugu.
This is the first time all elected Governors in the region would be meeting without sending representatives.
