Gunmen Release Bayelsa chairman’s Father Kidnapped Three Months Ago

Abducted 80-year-old father of Sagbama Local Government Area chairman in Bayelsa State, Pa Napoleon Alale, has been released after spending about three months with kidnappers.

Pa Alale was kidnapped at his residence in Agbere community on Friday May 8th, 2020 by unknown gunmen.

He is the father of the current chairman of Sagbama Council, Hon. Embeleakpo Alale.

It was learnt that the octogenarian was released on Tuesday morning at Otuokpoti River in Ogbia Local Government Area of the state.

The Sagbama council chairman, Hon. Embeleakpo, confirmed the release of his father in a statement.

The statement signed by the Media Assistant to the Sagbama Council boss, Dr. Nikade Anderson, said the victim was released on Tuesday to the family.

 Hon. Embeleakpo stated that his father was currently receiving medical attention after spending months in the kidnappers’ den.

He expressed appreciation to God over the safe return of his father.

The Bayelsa Police Command also confirmed the release of the octogenarian, adding that the victim was released by his abductors with the efforts of security agencies in the state.

The command said the leader of the gunmen who abducted Pa. Alele identified as Mummy Reuben, has been arrested.

Asinim Butswat, the state police spokesman, noted that the suspect has confessed to how he conspired with others to carry out the Kidnap.

“Consequently, the kidnappers released the victim Pa. Napoleon Alale 80 years on Teusday 4th, August, at about 0100hours at Otuokpoti, Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State”, Butswat said.
