Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted three final year students of the Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State.
The students were alleged to be part of passengers reportedly kidnapped from a popular commercial transport line plying the Benin-Auchi Road on Monday.
The students were said to have been waylaid and forcefully taken into custody by the bandits while returning back to school along the Benin-Auchi Road.
NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online gathered that the victims are all final year Higher National Diploma (HND) students.
One of the kidnapped victims identified as Ogunniyi Omone Victory is a student of Microbiology.
“They are all students of School of Applied Sciences and Technology with two of the students being students of Biochemistry and Microbiology”, a student confided on this medium.
Two of the kidnapped students are females while one is a male.

The victims’ course mates confirmed the incident on Wednesday to our correspondent
“They were kidnapped on Monday November 30, while returning to school along the Benin-Auchi road. Three of them are of the school of Applied Sciences. All of them are HND final year students. Two of them are girls while one is boy”, one of the students told our reporter.
It was gathered further that the gunmen are demanding N3million each for the abducted students.
The Benin-Auchi Road has been under kidnappers’ siege with recent times with travellers plying the road being attacked and kidnapped by arms-wielding gunmen.
When contacted on the incident, the Public Relations Officer of Auchi Poly, Mr Mustapha Oshiobugie, told our correspondent that the institution was not aware of the abduction of the students.
Similar efforts to speak with the spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command, Chidi Nwabuzor, proved abortive as repeated calls to his telephone number ranged out.
He had yet to respond to text message sent to him as of the time of filing this report.
