Group To Bayelsa Governor-Elect: Probe Alleged Dickson’s Foreign Investment

Governor Dickson of Bayelsa State

Bayelsa Youths under the aegis of the Bayelsa Diaspora Mandate (BDM) has urged the State Governor-elect, Chief David Lyon to take a second look at the alleged Foreign Direct Investment spendings of the outgoing administration of Governor Seriake Dickson in the last eight years under the Bayelsa Development and Investment Council (BDIC}.

The Bayelsa Diaspora Mandate led by the Chairman, Comrade Kelvin Otele, said though the policy of the Foreign Direct Investment was backed by a Bill from the State House of Assembly, the spending of the State resources was secretive, wasteful and mischievously done without any gains and diverted into private pockets.

The BDM, in a statement issued yesterday by its Chairman, Kelvin Otele, said the incoming administration of Chief David Lyon should take a second look at the financial dealings done under the guise of Direct Foreign Investment and order a forensic audit of the spending and recover the monies wasted and diverted into private pockets.

“ It would be recalled that a bill on the BDIC was passed by the State House of Assembly under the restoration government in other to strengthen the foreign direct investment of Bayelsa State. But preliminary investigations showed that the policy was a reported scam with alleged corrupt spending, and private pocket diversions.”

“The Bayelsa Disapora Mandate is happy for you and your success as the Governor-Elect Bayelsa State. The group and his leadership are ready to assist in the probe of the failed investment spending and also set up a genuine foreign direct investment between Malaysia and your Administration”.
