Governor Ifeanyi Okowa close ally and The former Managing Director of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Bashorun Askia Ogieh, on Sunday failed to pick the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Isoko Federal Constituency seat.
Askia was defeated by the immediate past Delta State commissioner for Power and Energy, Engr. Jonathan Ukhodiko in a keenly contested primaries.
Ukhodiko polled 33 votes to beat his closest rival, Askia, who scored 23 votes.
While Askia had the support of Governor Okowa, Ukhodiko enjoyed the support of the incumbent member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Leo Ogor.
In Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency, Olorogun Talib Tebite, picked the PDP ticket beating three others.
Also, the current member representing Warri Federal Constituency, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, won the ticket of the PDP for the 2023 general elections.
