President Muhammadu Buhari and Ebonyi State governor, David Umahi

The governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi, on Thursday warned political appointees in the state that he will not hesitate to sack any appointee who castigate or abuse President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said he will also takes similar action against any aide who abuses any Nigerian governor or government officials serving under the President Buhari’s administration.

Umahi said the warning became necessary since such action will not add value to his administration.

In a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Francis Nwaze, the governor said it is the last time he would warn his appointees against gossiping or abusing government officials.

Umahi, who claimed he is working tirelessly to develop the state and attract more development to South East zone through the South East Governors Forum,  advised that anyone who wishes to throw unnecessary stone against any of the above mentioned leaders should resign.

He added that any aide whose stock in trade is to abuse and castigate political leaders will be sacked and shown the way out of his government.

The statement read, “Any posting henceforth against the President, any Governor or Government from any of my appointees will attract immediate termination of appointment by me.

“If you want to castigate the president, his government or any Governor, you must leave my government first.”

Governor Umahi explained that appointees must concentrate on the reason for which they were appointed by his administration.

“How does such castigation help my government?  This will be my final warning”, he further added.
