Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. David Umahi has approved the appointment of one hundred and eighty (180) political aides into his government.
The appointees are in three categories, Executive Assistants, a position which the Governor created newly to further enhance smooth running of his administration and accommodate most of his supporters, Senior Technical Assistants and Technical Assistants.
Among the appointees are former council chairmen in the state, Barr. Igberi Nweme, Hon Dustan Nwaogbaga, former deputy- Speaker, Hon Dorothy Obasi, his former Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Hon. Francis Agwu as his Executive Assistant.

In a statement signed by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Hon. Clement Nweke, the Umahi also appointed nine Executive Assistants, 65 Senior Technical Assistants while others are Technical Assistants making it total of 180 appointees.
The statement released on Saturday stated that the new appointees should report to the office of the Principal Secretary to the Governor with their Credentials from 16th September, 2019 for their documentation.
“His Excellency, Engr. (Chief) David Umahi Nweze (FNSE, FNATE), Governor of Ebonyi State, has approved the appointment of the underlisted persons as Executive Assistants, Senior Technical Assistants and Technical Assistants to the Governor of Ebonyi State”, the statement added.
