Immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has described the death of Pa. Arthur Okowa, father of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, as “quite a surprise” to him.

Uduaghan, in a statement personally signed by him on Friday, said Governor Okowa’s father lived a life full of achievements and enduring legacies.

He recalled that Pa. Okowa displayed “sharp mind” during their days in the defunct Grassroots Democratic Movement (GDM).

The former governor further noted that Pa, Okowa demise, no doubt, has created a vacuum especially to his immediate family and those who closely related with him while alive.

“The news of the death of the father of the Governor of Delta State, Sen Ifeanyi Okowa, was quite a surprise. Late Sir Arthur Okorie Uzoma Okowa, even at old age, was still quite agile. For some of us who knew him from GDM days, we can testify that he was a man with a very sharp mind.

“His glorious exit has brought to an end an eventful sojourn on earth. We are however, consoled by the fact that he lived a life full of achievements and enduring legacies for which he will always be remembered”, Uduaghan stated.

Uduaghan, while commiserating with Governor Okowa and his family members, urged them to take solace in the fact the deceased lived a fulfilled life and impacted society especially his immediate surrounding positively.
