Delta State governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and wife, Edith, have tested negative to coronavirus twelve days after testing positive.
The governor’s daughter who had earlier tested positive has also recovered from the virus after spending almost three weeks at the one of the treatment centre.
Governor Okowa disclosed this on Tuesday while also announcing that members of his family have all tested negative to disease.
The governor, who thanked God for his fast recovery, appreciates the people of the state for praying for him, wife and daughter during the period.
Okowa announced this on his verified Facebook page, saying, “My wife, my daughter and I have tested negative for COVID 19, along with other members of the family.
“We give God all praise and wish to appreciate all who have interceded for us in prayers.”
He further appealed to residents of the state to adhere to the relevant protocols aimed at containing the spread of the virus.
“I appeal to all residing in Delta to obey all instructions/ regulations in our collective fight to stop the transmission of the virus. God bless you all”, Gov Okowa added.
