Four Lecturers Of AAU Dismissed Over Alleged Gross Misconduct

Four lecturers of Edo State-owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, have been dismissed by the management of the University, over alleged misconduct.

They were reportedly dismissed from the service of the University, for alleged illegal collections of unauthorised fees, alterations of students results and gross misconduct.

Those involved are as follows: Barr. Patrick Ikechuckwu Iweoha (Faculty of Law), Engr. Dr  Lawrence Imaekhai (Faculty of Engineering & Technology), Engr. Dr Sumaila Jimoh (Faculty of Engineering & Technology), Engr. Haruna Andrew Idoko (Technologist, Faculty of Engineering & Technology).

Their dismissal was approved at the emergency meeting of the Special Intervention Team (SIT), held on Wednesday 1 December, 2021, at which the report of the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee (SSDC), was considered.

“Accordingly, the above staff have been dismissed for gross misconduct with effect from wednesday 1st December, 2021,” the report said.

The University’s Public Relations Officer/Acting Registrar, Edward Aihevba, confirmed the dismissal of the lecturers to our correspondent on Monday.

“Yes, the four lecturers were dismissed for gross misconduct,” Aihevba said.

Effort to get the affected lecturers to react tk the allegation failed as none of them could be reached.
