The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria on Tuesday advanced to the round of sixteen of the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup, after pulling a surprise victory over Ecuador young lads.
The Nigerian team beats Ecuador 3-2 at the Estadio Olimpico Pedro Ludovico in Goiania.
Ibrahim Said scored a hat-trick in a pulsating match to see Nigeria through recording a dramatic comeback in the process.
The African representative had ended the first half with one goal a piece before a VAR induced penalty put their South American counterparts from Ecuador in front.
Nigerians fought back dramatically in the last 15 minutes of the encounter to win 3-2.
The hero of the night was Sa’di Ibrahim who scored the tournament hatrick spotting jersey no 7.
It will be recalled that the Nigerian side had a great come back in their opening encounter against Hungary. It ended 4-2.
