A former Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay, has described the death of former President General of Isoko Development Union (IDU, Chief Gregory Akpojene, and renowned educationist, Dr. George Idodo-Umeh, as a great loss to the Isoko Nation and Delta State in general.
The former SSG, while commiserating with the families of Akpojene of Otor Igho and Idodo-Umeh of Olomoro over the death of the two patriarchs, said the octogenarians contributed immensely to the development of their respective fields.
Chief Akpojene, a former IDU President and a successful commercial farmer died at the age of 83 years, while Dr. Idodo-Umeh, a popular publisher died at 80 recently.

Macaulay, who is the Director General of Warri/Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency (WUEDA), described the death of the duo as a great lost when he paid separate condolence visits to the families of the deceased.
The former NLC and NUJ Chairman speaking when he visited the home of Late Akpojene said, “You were a mentor and a man who gave hope to so many during your life time. You will always be remembered as a patriotic Isoko leader.”
Also, he stated that Idodo-Umeh definitely accomplished his mission on earth. “Politically, you made your mark. In the academic field, you had more than your fair share capping it with two doctorate degrees, an uncommon achievement.”
The former SSG urged the bereaved families to be consoled with the fact that their patriarchs lived a fulfilled life, and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
