ELOZINO OGEGE: Tears, Tribute As DELSU Student Killed By ‘Money Ritualists’ Is Buried

There was uncontrollable outpour of tears on Friday at Oleh in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State during the burial ceremony of the 300-level student of the Delta State University, Abraka, Miss Elozino Ogege, who was murdered by suspected ‘money ritualists.’
Sympathizers including relations, friends and students of DELSU thronged the venue to bid her goodbye.
The apex socio-cultural umbrella of the Isoko Nation, Isoko Development Union (IDU) and its youth wing, Isoko National Youth Assembly were equally present at the funeral.
Elozino was murdered by suspected ritualists, known as ‘Yahoo plus’, on November 15, 2018, four days after she was declared missing. The killers removed her vital organs.
The 22-year-old was a First Class student of the Department of Mass Communication of DELSU when she met her untimely death.
At the brief church service in honour of the deceased by Anglican Diocese of Oleh, sympathizers who had travelled from across the state, sobbed ceaseless as they watch the 22-year-old first-class student being laid to rest.
The Bishop of the Diocese of Oleh, Bishop John Aruakpor, who officiated the ceremony, condemned the gruesome killing of the students, urging the state government to ensure that justice is served for the deceased family.
Bishop Aruakpor, represented by Venerable Richard Oziwele, described the deceased as humble and committed Christian.
The cleric, while condemning the get-rich-quick syndrome among youths, declared death upon the perpetrators and killers of the late mass communication student.
He urged the youth to stay clear of evil and repent, noting that death is the ultimate end of any evil gotten wealth.
IDU President-General, High Chief Iduh Amadhe, who was represented by Mr. Dan Odhomor and other executive members, and Isoko Youth President, Comrade Umuakpor Ovie, vowed to ensure that there justice for the Isoko Nation.
The authorities of DELSU was represented by Professor Stephen Emosairue, provost DELSU, Oleh campus.
Students of the institution presented album in memory of Elozino even as Bishop Aruakpor charged DELSU and IDU to produce the album in large quantity and ensure it goes viral.
