The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday took anti-corruption groups and media practitioners on tour of properties formerly owned by former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke and former Director, Finance and Administration of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Henry Ogiri in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The two choice properties forfeited to the Federal Government were allegedly acquired with illicit funds by their former owners.
Our correspondent reports that the tour of both properties was part of activities a two day Expert Training and Advocacy on Tracing and Recovery of Illicit Funds and Assets,.
The two-day training was an initiative of the Human Environment Development Agenda (HEDA) which targeted media and civil society stakeholders passionate about fighting corruption and money laundering.
EFCC’s Head of Assets Forfeiture, Harcourt Zone, Oseni Kazeem, tour guide on the occasion, took the anti corruption advocacy stakeholders to an expansive 16 Terrace Duplexes property belonging to the former Petroleum Minister, Diezani 16 Omarelu St, New GRA, Port Harcourt.
At 29 New Haven Street, also in New GRA, Port Harcourt, participants also inspected a 16 rooms’ mansion of detached story buildings forfeited by former NDDC’s Director, Finance and Administration, Henry Ogiri.
