The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released billionaire businessman, Obi Cubana, 24 hours after the socialite was arrested by the anti-graft agency.
Cubana, whose real name is Obi Iyiegbu, was arrested on Monday on allegation of money laundering and tax fraud by operatives of the commission in Abuja.
The businessman confirmed his release in a post on Instagram on Tuesday minutes after his release.
The post, accompanied with photo where he was dressed in his usual white native with a red cap, Cubana said he was “unbroken”.
His release is coming after Nigerian celebrities and friends launched #FreeObiCubana hashtag, where they demanded for the release of the billionaire club and real estate businessman.
Among the celebrities who demanded for Obi Cubana’s release were legendary Nigerian singer, 2Baba, Delta lawmaker, Friday Osanebi and host of others.
