EFCC Arrests Theodore Orji, Quizzes Abia Assembly Speaker ,Chinedu

A former Governor of Abia State, Theodore Orji, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The PUNCH reported that Orji was arrested Thursday morning at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

He was taken from the airport to the Commission’s office to answer questions over alleged misappropriation of Abia State funds in the excess of N551 billion.

Spokesman of EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that Orji is still with the Commission and is being grilled over allegation of fraud.

His son, Chinedu, who is the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, who showed up at the anti-graft agency’s office, on learning that his father had been arrested, is also being quizzed.

Another of Orji’s son, Ogbonna, is also being investigated with his father over misappropriation of public fund.
