As the trouble in the Edo State House Assembly continues, two members-elect have dumped the camp controlled by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led camp.

The two members-elect are Emmanuel Okoduwa (Esan North-East l) and Sunday Ojezele (Esan South-East) all from Edo Central Senatorial District of the state.

They were subsequently sworn-in by the Clerk of the House, Yahaya Audu Omogbai at an emergency house plenary held on Monday at the Assembly Complex.

The swearing-in was held under tight security.

This brings to the number of lawmakers on the side of the state governor, Obaseki to 11 out of the 24 members that make up the assembly.

At the Monday’s plenary, principal officers were also elected to pilot the affairs of the house before re-adjourning sitting to July 17, 2019.

 The Principal officers elected are Roland Asoro (Orhionmwon ll) as House Leader; Marcus Onobun (Esan West) as Deputy Leader; Henry Okhuarobo (Ikpoba Okha) as Chief Whip, while Nosayaba Okunbor was co-opted into the Principal Officers Council.

 Nine out of the 24 members-elect of the House were inaugurated last Monday, behind closed doors, a situation ripple and divide the state chapter of the APC.

However, only nine members, including the Speaker, were present at plenary, while two were absent.
