The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Uhunmwode Local Government Area Chapter of Edo State has suspended Governor Godwin Obaseki’s henchman, Mr. Charles Idahosa as the Leader of the Council, and consequently removed him from office following his alleged leadership failures

A resolution at an enlarged party meeting of executives, Leaders and other stakeholders held  on Sunday at Eyean,  near Benin City, Edo State said Charles Idahosa has appropriated the Party structure to himself by runing the affairs of the Party as “privately owned limited company where he is both the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.”

The motion moved by the pioneer State Auditor of APC, Joe Imasuen, Stated that the Party is now a shadow of its former self predicated on the failure of Idahosa to provide “pragmatic and effective leadership for the Party to development”.

According to the resolution, Charles Idahosa has continued to alienate other leaders of the Party “in his selfish grand design to perpetuate their inordinate and selfish interests at the expense of the health and wellbeing of members and the Local Government Area”.

furthermore, Idahosa through his activities compromised the growth of the Party by “supporting and promoting factionalisation of our great Party, as well as sabotaging genuine efforts by well meaning leaders and members to attracting more people to our great Party”.

The resolution also alleged that Idahosa reduced the Uhunmwode Council to a mere dispensing centre for his personal needs thereby hampering the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.

Following these allegations, the council APC members unanimously suspended, and removed Idahosa from the leadership position while a Disciplinary Committee was set up to probe him and submit its report within two weeks.

Meanwhile, former commissioner for Health, Prof. David Osifo, former Minority Leader, House of Representatives, Hon Samson Osagie, APC Governorship aspirant, Chief Solomon Edebiri and House of Assembly member-elect, Washington Osa Osifo were asked to pilot the affairs of the Party for all and sundry.
