*Assures CEDESA Initiative Of Partnership
The Center for Education Development and Skill Acquisition Initiative (CEDESA) have honored the Delta State Commissioner for Youth Development, Comrade Ifeanyi Michael Egwunyenga with “Youth Influencer Award” for his astute youth centered technological innovations and for his relentless promotion of ICT for mindset and values reorientation amongst the youths in the state.
While receiving the award in his office, Comr. Egwunyenga lauded CEDESA Initiative for what he described as an unparalleled pragmatic organization that has impacted so much on the society and for the award; the commissioner also noted that he is an award shy person because according to him, ‘I have not done anything at all when juxtaposed with all that I have lined up for the youths in the state”, he added.
He further noted that he has heard so much about the activities and programmes of CEDESA and that he would love to collaborate with organization for greater reach and impact even as he added that, “youth engagement is a collective effort and as such required the inputs of parents, religious organizations, traditional institutions, NGOs, the society and so on.
Comrade Egwunyenga also stated that whatever the youth ministry has done so far and will continue to do will be in line with the thrust of the Sen Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa’s administration as it concerns the youths in the state. According to him, the new thinking – mindset and values reorientation programme and projects of the youth ministry will continue to interface and partner with proactive individuals and organizations to better the lots of the youths in the state.
“Values and mindset reorientation is all encompassing as it concerns the youths; it includes but not limited to civic, business and spiritual mentoring”, he said.
Earlier in her address, the CEDESA Initiative CEO, Mrs Ugbe Iyabo Oluronke appreciated Comr. Egwunyenga for granting CEDESA an audience with him and for being a youth friendly, loving and worthy mentor and influencer to the youths in the state which she noted motivated the award.
The CEDESA Initiative boss encapsulated the core goals of the organization to include amongst others; to vigorously pursue and advocate for education development in all ramifications in the state and across the country. Also, she appealed for partnership with the ministry of youth development to enable the organization bring most of the programmes, activities and projects of the ministry to the grassroots across the state especially in Ukwuani local government where the organization is based.
Meanwhile, the Director of Media and Strategic Communications CEDESA Initiative, Mr Aiya Abhumhen commended the youth Commissioner for the good works he has done so far and observed that CEDESA Initiative is a huge fan of the Youth Influencer – Comr Egwunyenga.
Also, he appealed to the commissioner to partner with the organization for greater impact because according to him CEDESA Initiative is currently engaging over 600 youths across Ukwuani local government in skill acquisition, leather works, mentoring and mindset re-engineering for efficient productivity.
He posited that a robust collaboration with CEDESA will widened the reach and impact of the youth ministry which he said have done so much already. According to him, CEDESA Initiative is currently in partnership with the ministry of education and have been organizing Back to School sensitization and mentoring of over 60,000 pupils and students in schools across Ukwuani local government and the result have been near excellent, he stated.
