The Delta State Police Command has urged residents to obey the curfew declared by the state government aimed at returning normalcy across the state as it promised to implement whatever decision reached by the Federal Government to reform the Nigeria Police.
State Commissioner of Police, Hafiz Inuwa, who stated this, also called on Deltans to join the Nigeria police in its quest to keep the existing peace in the state.
The commissioner, in a statement issued by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, appealed to youths in the state to discontinue further protest and destruction of public and private property across the state.
Inuwa, who sued for partnership, enjoined Deltans to remain law abiding while keeping to the directive of the state government on the curfew.
“Following the Nationwide #Endsars protest which was later hijacked by suspected hoodlums with the attendant destructions of both Government and private property and loss of lives.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa, mni, wishes to reassure members of the public of Delta State Police Command’s commitment to ensure full compliance and implementation of all directives on police reforms as may be approved by the Federal Government through Police authority to address all salient issues raised by the protesters so as to meet the yearnings and aspirations of members of the public especially the youths as regards the operations and performances of the Nigeria Police
“On this note in order to ensure amicable resolution of the social unrest, all Deltans are hereby advised to sue for peace and abide by the State Government directives as regards the curfew and also partner with law enforcement agencies so as to build a peaceful and viable Delta
“The Commissioner of Police equally calls on Deltans to stay at home, remain law abiding and eschew violence in all ramifications”, the statement read.
