Delta PFN Chairman Mourns Ex-Delta Deputy Gov Prof. Amos Utuama

The Delta State Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Abos Willie, has described the death of a former deputy governor of state, Prof. Amos Agbe Utuama SAN, as a monumental loss to the state.

 

Bishop Willie, who described Utuama as a selfless leader, noted that the former deputy governor contributed immensely to the development of the state.

 

Prof. Utuama passed on Saturday after a protracted illness at the age of 77. He was a deputy governor from 2007 to 2015 during the administration of former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.

 

In a statement on Monday, Delta PFN chairman commiserated with the Utuama family, Otughievwen (Otu-Jeremi) town and Government of Delta State for the passage of Prof. Utuama.

 

According to the statement, “The exit of Professor Amos Utuama is monumental loss to the Delta State Government and Deltans at large.

 

“Professor Utuama was a selfless leader who contributed to the growth and Development of Delta State as Deputy Governor in the Dr Uduaghan led Administration between 2007-2015.

“Professor Utuama’s achievements as a legal luminary were outstanding and his proficiency in Administration no doubt helped to position Delta State on the path of progress, Peace and sustainable development.

 

“Professor Utuama would be missed for his exemplary lifestyle, invaluable footprints in Nigeria’s law profession, education, and good governance.

 

“It is My prayer that God grants His Soul eternal rest and give the entire Utuama family, The People of Otughievwen (Otu-Jeremi) and the Government of Delta State the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
