Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has reached agreement to commence payment of the 30,000 minimum wage for civil servant in the state.
The governor said the payment will begins from January of 2020 with two months arrears.
Okowa represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Chiedu Ebie, signed the minimum wage pact with labour at a meeting attended by the State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Fidelis Tilije and labour leaders in the state.
With the signing, Delta will commence payment January but with effect from Nov. 1, 2019.
