Delta Central 2023: Udu, Ughelli South APC Leaders Pledge Support For Dafinone’s Senatorial Race

Prominent political leaders in Udu and Ughelli South Local Government Areas of Delta State have pledged to mobilised support and ensure that the Delta Central senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Ede Dafinone, succeeds Senator Ovie Omo-Agege in the 2023 general elections.

Among those who gave the assurance to deliver Dafinone in next year’s election are a former Nigerian Ambassador to Vietnam, Chief Ambassador Francis Efeduma; former president general of Udu Kingdom Chief Hon. Steve Sokoh and a chieftain of APC in Udu Local government area Chief Christian Wiliki.

They spoke during separate consultative visits by Chief Dafinone, the flagbearer of APC for Delta Central, to the leaders and some party faithful in their respective country-homes in Egbo-Uhurhie in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Ovwian and Aladja in Udu Local Government Delta State.

The former Ambassador to Vietnam said; he is so convinced and sure that all his people will vote for Chief Ede Dafinone. In his words, “Egbo-Uhurhie people, Otokutu and the entire Ward will vote Ede Dafinone come 2023, but appeal to him fulfil all his promises and not to neglect the Urhobo nation, but emulate the good antecedents of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

On their part, Chief Hon. Steve Sokoh, former Council Chairman of Udu Local Government Area and past President General of Udu and said; ” Having listened to you, I can assure you that we all are impressed, and it is my prayers that you effects all you have said.” Here in Udu, we know how to reach out to people. While commending Senator Omo-Agege for his competency, Chief Wiliki noted that he was sceptical thinking that who can match the vacuum Omo-Agege is living, but said, with Chief Ede Dafinone, Delta Central is safe. He urged him to fulfil all his campaign promises and bring pride to Delta Central.

They, however, urged all indigenes to ensure they get their permanent voter cards in other to deliver Chief Ede Dafinone come 2023.

In his brief speech, Chief Ede stated that the Delta Central Senatorial seat needs a viable and dependable person who has some level of achievement in life. He appealed to them for their support and prayers in other to achieve his aspirations, adding that by his experience and achievements, he can represent the Urhobo nation effectively as he has both international and local experiences.

“A senator must have some skills, a good level of education and must also be able to talk and contribute whenever other senators are speaking. As a senator, I should be able to contribute to the economy and other concerns. So, I see myself as someone who is qualified and competent with the requisite education, knowledge and experience to represent the Delta Central Senatorial District”.
