DELTA AT 28: Unity Among Deltans Is Worth Celebrating – Chief Obielum

Chief Obielum

A frontline Delta-born politician, Chief Godwill Obielum has said the people are celebrating peaceful co-existence which Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration endeared in their hearts.

Speaking on Tuesday (27/08/19) in Asaba during the celebration of the anniversary, Chief Obielum said, “we will not talk much about development, because it is obvious that our Governor has done a lot in that respect.”

“The massive development we are witnessing today came as a result of the fact that Governor Okowa achieved peace and unity; he engendered the spirit of trust, the spirit of oneness in the people and like the Biblical saying that seek ye the kingdom of God and every other thing will be added unto you, with peace and unity, we can see what the governor is doing and the people are happy,” Chief Obielum said.

“As an individual, I can say, the greatest achievement we have recorded is peace; with peace, our Governor is constructing roads in the creeks and upland, he also spoke that by the time the drainage work in Asaba is fully completed there will be no longer flooding of Asaba.

“Our airport is now functional, to sum it up, we have a government that the people believe is theirs, that means that democracy is working in our state,” Chief Obielum emphasised.

He urged Deltans to remain focused, patient and supportive of government, noting that building a stronger Delta is a collective action.
