Frontline Delta State Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship aspirant for 2023, Olorogun David Edevbie, has promised to give 25 per cent of all his political appointments to youths if elected as governor.

Edevbie, an immediate past Chief of Staff to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, stated this on  Friday when he hosted some youths supporting governorship ambition to an interactive session.

He said it is necessary for youths to be engaged in formal political processes to remain relevant in politics.

The Ughelli-born economist turned politician noted that if elected governor of Delta, his administration will place a premium in the development and engagement of youths in the state.

Edevbie, who is also a former Commissioner for Finance, said, “I used the opportunity to emphasised that to make a difference in the longer term, youths must be engaged in formal political processes and have a say in formulating today’s and tomorrow’s politics.

“I noted that inclusive political participation is not only a fundamental political and democratic right but also is crucial to building stable and peaceful societies and developing policies that respond to the specific needs of younger generations.
