The Imam in-charge of Ekakpamre Mosque in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, Alhaji Mohammad Young Okotie, who was declared, wanted for allegedly violating the order banning religious and social gatherings by the State Government has been arrested.
Alhaji Okotie was arrested by police operatives attached to the Otu-Jeremi Divisional Headquarters on Friday morning.
The suspect, who had went into hiding after being declared wanted by the state commissioner of police, Mr Hafiz Inuwa, is now cooling his feet at the police detention.
Okotie had said he deliberately held service Jumu’ah Service last Friday in violation of the sit-at-home order in the state over allegation that Muslims in the area were not considered in the sharing of palliative by the state government.

He complained that Muslim worshippers who are indigenes of the area where being oppressed and marginalized by the government in the area.
NIGER DELTA TODAY Online gathered that the suspect is expected to transfer to the State Police Headquarters where he would be tried for the violation.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Onome Onowakpoyeya confirmed the Imam’s arrest.
She said the suspect would soon be charged to court.
