COVID-19: Philanthropist Donates Food Items To Olomu Communities

There was joy amongst some Communities in Olomu Kingdom of Ughelli South Local Government Areas on Saturday as Engr. Isaac Omafuaire, Chairman of Tarman Engineering Limited donated food items to help cushion the effects of the government ordered lockdown.

Omafuaire flanked by his wife, Mrs. Gladys Omafuaire and Otovo Omafuaire made the presentation at Akperhe Olomu town hall to the President-Generals of the communities.

The beneficiary communities included, Akperhe, Ogoni, Umolo, Aloba, Ovwodokpokpo and Oviri Olomu.

According to Omafuaire, “I am here with my wife and brother to make this little donation to help as palliatives to cushion the effects of the lockdown.

“It’s my joy to assist my people at this critical point, there are several bags of beans, salt and cartons of Indomie noodles.

“I am also giving cash sum to the elderly people who are about 70 years plus from Akperhe and Ogoni communities as support.

“The women and youths who are here will also get cash donations. I want the food items to be shared by everyone.” He said.

Receiving the items on behalf of the President-Generals of the communities, Mr. Oviri Orakata, PG, Akperhe Olomu thanked Omafuaire for the gesture and show of love.

In his words, “We are happy that our brother has come to our aid, we did not solicit for the items.

“This is the first of individual donations we have received, we want others to emulate this great example.

“We pray that God will reward Omafuaire for his kindheartedness. We will ensure that the food and money gets to the beneficiaries.”

Highpoint of the ceremony was the official handing over of the items to the communities leaders amidst joyous cheers.
