In a bid to cushion the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on the most vulnerable citizens of the State, the Delta State Government has commenced the distribution of Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) palliatives across the State.
The Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Mr. Chiedu Ebie said Governor Okowa directed that the distribution should commence immediately and be done in accordance with the CACOVID guidelines.
Mr Ebie equally stated that 179 households in each of the 270 wards in the State will benefit from the distribution. The first batch of the distribution will commence with 13 LGAs while the other 12 LGA’s will follow immediately the vetting of their LGA beneficiary list is completed.
The 13 LGAs in the first batch include Aniocha South, Bomadi, Ethiope East, Ika North-East, Ika South, Ndokwa West, Okpe, Udu, Ughelli South, Ukwuani, Warri North, Warri South and Warri South-West.
Mr Ebie said in drawing up the list of the beneficiaries, the State Implementation Committee ensured that all stakeholders were carried along in compliance with the CACOVID guidelines.
The SSG charged the Local Government Implementation Committee and Ward Teams to work together to ensure that the distribution exercise is professionally and properly carried out.
Recall that His Exellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa recently flagged off the the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) National Food Distribution Programme in Delta State.
