Billionaire Prince Adedeji Adeleke, father of Nigerian popular singer, Davido, has donated N500m to the Federal Government of Nigeria to fight the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
The singer’s father also promised to distribute rice worth N250m to all the wards and residents of Osun State to enable residents of the state cushion the effect of the lockdown occasioned by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
According to a statement of the donation posted by Davido on his verified Twitter handle said his billionaire father would also be donating another 6, 640 bags of rice to the state government for distribution to indigenes of the state.
Davido, who lauded his after over the gesture, urged Nigerians to stay at home.
Remember Davido’s fiancée, Chioma is among the 139 persons that had tested positive to the dreaded virus in the country.

The statement announcing the donation by Prince Adeleke was signed by Chief (Dr) Mrs Dupe Adeleke-Saani on Tuesday.
According to the family, the distribution of the food items is to help cushion the effect of the lockdown on the people of Osun State as the country battles the coronavirus pandemic.
Mr. Adeleke called on Nigerians to heed the Federal Government’s instructions as well as relevant bodies in the fight against the pandemic.
The statement read, ““The Adeleke dynasty will this week commence the distribution of N250million worth of Rice across the Three Hundred and Thirty-Two Wards in Osun state” the statement read.
“This is in spite of the N500miilion donation by the Billionaire Deji Adeleke to contain the deadly Coronavirus.
“In a release signed by chief (Dr) Mrs. Dupe Adeleke Saani, the distribution of twenty bags of fifty kilograms of rice and three bags of beans per ward will be done across all parties and religious lines.
“According to her, the rice distribution is in furtherance of the commitment of the Adeleke dynasty to making life comfortable for all and sundry during this lockdown period.
“The release further enjoined the people of Osun state to comply with the Sit-at-home order and observe the WHO protocol of social distancing, cleanliness and general hygiene.
“Chief ( Dr) Dupe Adeleke Sanni promised that the Adeleke family will continue to support the people of the state come rain and shine.”
