Coronavirus: Okowa May Shutdown Schools In Delta Today

There are strong indications that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State will this morning (Friday) announced closure of all tertiary institutions, secondary and primary schools across the state over the outbreak of the coronavirus disease.

Governor Okowa, according to sources, will brief Deltans of the development this morning in Asaba.

It was learned that the governor is also considering restriction on religious gatherings as part of measures to tackle the spread of the virus in the state.

One of the sources told our correspondent that the governor will address journalists at the Government House, Asaba, at about 9am on the state government’s efforts in tackling the situation.

Already, the state government on Thursday announced the establishment of 11 isolation centres across.
