Coalition of political parties in Delta State have called on Deltans to have faith in the electoral process ahead of next Saturday’s governorship and State House of Assembly elections in the state.
The forum said nothing had gone wrong so far with electoral process and elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state.
At a meeting of the forum in Obiaruku, Ukwuani LGA of the state, chairman of the forum, Mr. Lucky Ikorakpa, said they were confident that the electoral umpire in the state will deliver a credible and fair exercise in the state.
A statement issued at the end of the meeting and jointly signed by the political parties’ delegates including PRP, ADP, AAC, ZLP, APM, YPP, and ACCORD Party, appealed to residents of the state turn out en masse to vote during the governorship election.
Ikorakpa said with the improvement in the electoral process, it was difficult for anyone or political parties to upturn results of the electorate during the election.
The forum cautioned Deltans and all voters to remain peaceful and cast their votes for their preferred candidates during the election.
