Tragedy struck on Sunday when a catholic priest who was conducting mass reportedly collapsed and died in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The priest, Rev Father Cyprain Kooro, was confirmed dead at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) where he was rushed after collapsing during Sunday mass.
The incident took place at the St Helen Parish, Ogbogoro, Obio Akpor local government area of Rivers.
A church source narrated that, “Father was saying the homily when he bowed his head and maintained silence for some minutes.
“When they tapped him, say father, father, he sprang up, asking where did I stop? Then he fell again. They rushed him to UPTH.
“At the hospital, doctors said he had high blood pressure. After much effort to save him, he was confirmed dead.”
