The Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli has described the appointment of Prof. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari as the new Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari as a welcome development.

The monarch said the new Chief of Staff is a detribalized Nigerian who has the capacity and requisite knowledge to help the administration to deliver on its electioneering campaign to Nigerians.

In a statement on Thursday personally signed by the monarch, the royal father congratulated Prof. Gambari, saying the appointee has a vast history and socio-cultural knowledge of the country.

The Warri monarch posited, “The story of the appointment of Prof. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari as the new chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari came to us in Warri as good news. Good news because we know the professor as an intelligent, well travelled, well read, and a detribalized Nigerian, with vast knowledge of the country and its over 250 tribes and people of various cultural background.

“I therefore write on behalf of myself and the entire people of Warri kingdom, to congratulate him and wish him resounding success in this assignment.Prof Gambari comes to this job with huge credentials, one of which is his versatile experience in conflict prevention and resolution, an experience that we hope he will bring to bear in performing his duties to assist the president in the continued peaceful resolution and development of the Niger delta where God has chosen to locate us.

“As a renowned teacher, scholar, diplomat, former minister, envoy, man of faith and close associate of president Buhari over the years, I believe strongly that Prof Agboola will be very much at home with the task at hand, to join the president in moving Nigeria to the much desired next level.”

The traditional ruler while calling on Nigerians to support the new Chief of Staff for the Buhari-led government to succeed, pray God to grant Gambari wisdom in his new office.

“I join other well meaning Nigerians to pray for him and Mr. President and call on almighty God to guide this prince of the royal court of the ancient kingdom of Ilorin, protect him and give him the wisdom to succeed and do this job in a creditable manner”, Olu of Warri added.
