 President Muhammadu Buhari has joined fans to congratulate Nigerian afrobeat stars, Ayodeji Balogun (Wizkid) and Damini Ogulu (Burna Boy) after they won the grammy in two different categories.

 The president in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Garba Shehu, said they have made notable contributions in the field of music which the world has come to recognized.

He also acknowledged the efforts of forerunners like King Sunny Ade and Femi Kuti whose creative exertions earned them Grammy nominations and brought Nigerian music to global reckoning.

Buhari said the record-breaking musical achievements are a recognition of the Nigerian creative talents and the awards will open doors to other aspiring citizens.
