Princess Anthonia Emiko, mother of the murdered student of Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo State, has reportedly fallen into a coma following the death of her son, Prince Timileyin Jeffrey Akro.

NIGER DELTA TODAY Online gathered that Princess Emiko has been traumatised by the death of her son and has been fighting depression since the news of the son’s passage was broken to her.

It was reliably learned that she has been in coma for over three days at an undisclosed hospital in Delta State.

Princess Emiko is a daughter of the Olu Erejuwa ll who reigned from 1951 to 1986 and aunt to the current Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse lll.

NIGER DELTA TODAY Online reports that Prince Timileyin was beaten to death inside the university hostel by a group of students for allegedly stealing a mobile phone on Saturday May 25.

The deceased was seen a viral video being tortured by his assailants from 6pm on Friday to about 10am on Saturday when he gave up the ghost.

The family of the 22-year-old Timileyin, who was a 200-level Mechanical Engineering student of Ajayi Crowther University had since debunked the claim that their son was murdered because he stole a handset.

The family had claimed the deceased was murdered because he refused to join secret cult which his killers had been pressurizing him to join.

Social media skit maker and aunt to the deceased, Tracy Tuoyo Memudughan, popular known as Mama T of Warri, confirmed the development to our correspondent on Thursday.

Mama T of Warri told NIGER DELTA TODAY Online that Princess Emiko was in good health until the news of her son’s death was disclosed to her, adding that “She (princess Emiko) has been ill since then, but her health deteriorated three days ago. She’s in coma.”

She berated the management of the University for the poor handling of the unfortunate incident, calling on the Federal Government to shut the school pending conclusion of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Prince Timileyin.

The popular skit maker also expressed displeasure on why the Oyo and Delta State Governments had remained mute on the incident, stressing that “no officials from the University, Oyo and Delta Governments had visited our family since the incident happened. This is sad.”

She demanded that there must be thorough investigation to bring assailants of Prince Timileyin to justice, noting that the entire family is traumatised by the incident and current state of health of the princess
