A woman and her daughter were on Thursday afternoon crushed to death by a passenger-train plying the Itakpe- Warri (Ujevwu) railway line in Udu Council Area of Delta State.
The incident occurred at Aragba area of Orhuwhorun Town at about 3:40pm on Thursday.
The victims died on the spot, sources told NIGER DELTA TODAY Online.

It was learnt that the deceased woman and her teenage daughter were crossing the rail track when they were knocked down.
Although details of the incident were sketchy at the time of filing this report, sources claimed the incident led to a state of pandemonium in the area.
The teenage daughter was trying to save her mother when she was knocked down by the train.

It was gathered that the train was bound for the Ujevwu Train Station in Udu and scheduled to return to Itakpe in Kogi state after dropping passengers on board.
As of the time of filing this report, a source at the train station disclosed that the train was yet to return as youths of the area had allegedly mobilized to the spot of the accident.
