There is palpable tension in Auchi, Edo State, as unknown gunmen have reportedly shot dead three persons in the polytechnic community.
The victims include a student of the Auchi Polytechnic and two commercial motorcycle operators.
NIGER DELTA TODAY Online learnt that the incident took place in front of the Campus 2 Gate of the Auchi Polytechnic.
Our correspondent gathered that incident occurred around 1:45pm on Wednesday.
The gunmen were said to have stormed the scene in a vehicle and opened fire on the victims at the school gate.
The fleeing armed men while trying to escape from the scene of the incident shot the two remaining victims – Okada riders.
Meanwhile, some sources had linked the killings to two rival cult groups operating in the town.
