The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered immediate redeployment of the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Dandaura Mustapha.
Mustapha’s redeployment, according to a statement on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, takes immediate effect.
Mba said the ex-Rivers Police chief has been replaced with Joseph Gobum Mukari.
It was learnt that the change of guard is not unconnected with the partial COVID-19 lockdown in the state where some oil workers had been arrested by the state governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike.
