Isoko Nation has once again been thrown into mourning following the death of one of its leading and top politicians in Delta State, Architect Joseph Ajiri Ogeh.
Arc Ogeh, who was the immediate past commissioner for Housing in Delta State during the first term of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, died in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Political allies of the late politician confirmed his passage to NIGER DELTA TODAY on Sunday.
It was gathered that he collapsed at about 3am on Sunday at his residence in Warri. He was said to have been confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital he was rushed for medical attention.
Ogeh, who was in his 50s, was said to have held political meeting with friends until 1am on Sunday.
The deceased was also a former commissioner representing Isoko ethnic nationality on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Commission (DESOPADEC) before his appointment as commissioner for housing.
He was seeking to contest for the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Delta South Senatorial District in 2023 general election.
Arc Joseph Ajiri Ogeh was said have slated a meeting with members of his political family for today (Sunday) at Iyede country-home in Isoko.
Meanwhile, friends and political allies have taken to social media to mourn the death of the politician, whom, they described as grassroot politician and philanthropist.
His death is coming barely 24hours after Isoko Nation also loss a renowned historian and former Delta State commissioner for education, Prof Abednego Ekoko.
Several politicians of Isoko extraction including two serving lawmakers of the Delta State House of Assembly – Kenneth Ogba and Tim Owhofere – have also recently died.
