There were indications on Tuesday that President Muhammadu Buhari has trimmed the five-man list of presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to three.
It was gathered that the list was trimmed from the initial proposed five aspirants to three after marathon of meetings between the President and leaders of the party.
APC governors had early hours of Tuesday presented five presidential aspirant names to President Buhari from where he suspected to pick one of the aspirants a consensus candidate.
Among those earlier presented to the President were Bola Tinubu, Rotimi Amaechi, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Governors David Umahi and Kayode Fayemi.
But sources within the known in the ongoing consultations told NIGER DELTA TODAY that the list had been reduced to a three-horse race.
One of the sources told our correspondent that the immediate past Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo are those who made the three-man list.
The sources added consultations were still ongoing in a bit to further reduce the numbers to two ahead of the commencement of voting by delegates.
It was further gathered that most inner caucus of the president were tilting towards Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State.
